YONEX POLY TOUR PRO

Yonex Poly Tour Pro is the flagship of the Poly Tour range and one of the most-used strings on the ATP tour. It is a round co-polyester with a firm but friendly feel, a muted, controlled response and outstanding tension maintenance. It comes in yellow, black, blue and purple.

It is the control-and-consistency benchmark of the Poly Tour line — the least spin-oriented, but the most stable and predictable.

On-Court Performance

At impact the feel is firm but not harsh, with a clean, connected contact. It is not lively or springy — the response is deliberately dead and muted, closer to Luxilon Alu Power than to a shaped spin string.

Control is the standout. You can take full cuts at the ball and trust it to stay in the court, with a low, repeatable trajectory and strong stability on off-centre hits.

Spin is the lowest in the Yonex poly family. There is enough bite to shape the ball, but for heavy topspin you would hybrid it or choose Strike, Spin or Rev.

Tension maintenance and playability duration are excellent. The stringbed holds its crisp response and control far longer than most co-polys before it needs replacing.

Hybrid Setups & Performance Adjustments

Power
String at the lower end of the tension range, or pair with natural gut or a multifilament in the mains.

Control
Already the control option — use a full bed toward the upper tension window.

Spin
Put Poly Tour Strike, Spin or Rev in the mains and Poly Tour Pro in the crosses.

Comfort
Hybrid with a soft multifilament in the crosses and lower tension slightly.

Tension Stability
One of the most stable co-polys made — string mid-range and expect a long consistent window.

Durability
Already durable — move to a thicker gauge only if you break strings very quickly.
