About Tennis Cube
The person behind Tennis Cube
I’m Božidar Galić, a professional tennis coach, racquet stringer, and the founder of Tennis Cube. I hold a Master’s degree in Physical Education and have been involved in tennis for more than 22 years.
More than a tennis string shop
Tennis Cube was built around a simple idea: choosing the right tennis string shouldn’t be guesswork.
When players buy a racquet, they often research specifications, read reviews, test different models, and ask for advice. But when it comes to strings — one of the most influential parts of a racquet’s setup — the decision is often reduced to a brand name, a professional player’s choice, or a marketing claim.
That’s what Tennis Cube is here to change.
Tennis Cube combines a specialised tennis string shop with independent ratings, comparisons, recommendations, and practical education. The goal is to help players, stringers, coaches, clubs, and academies understand how different strings actually perform — and find the setup that makes sense for them.
My experience with racquet stringing
I started stringing racquets when I was 16. I was breaking strings regularly and couldn’t afford to keep paying someone else to restring them, so my coach, Jan from the Czech Republic, taught me how.
My first racquet wasn’t exactly a masterpiece. I forgot the final cross and somehow played with it like that for weeks. But I kept learning.
While studying and working at my local tennis club, I had the opportunity to string racquets at Challenger tournaments, Futures events, and international junior tournaments. Those experiences taught me how important consistency, accuracy, and efficiency are when you’re working under pressure. I’ve strung thousands of racquets since then, and I still enjoy it.
Stringing also taught me something that you can’t fully learn from specifications or laboratory measurements: how strings behave in the hands of real players over time.
- How does a string feel after five hours?
- What happens after ten?
- When does it start losing its response?
- Does it move and snap back?
- When does it become uncomfortable?
- Does it lose its playability before it actually breaks?
These are the details that matter when you’re choosing a string.
Why I became obsessed with tennis strings
After years of coaching and stringing, I started noticing the same problem again and again: players were often using strings that simply didn’t suit them.
A recreational player might be using a very stiff polyester because their favourite professional uses it. A player struggling with arm discomfort might be playing an unnecessarily demanding setup. Another player might be using a string that gives them plenty of power when what they really need is more control.
The problem isn’t that these strings are bad. They’re simply not right for everyone.
Your string can have a major influence on how your racquet feels and performs — affecting power, control, spin, comfort, durability, feel, and tension stability. And yet, compared with racquets, players receive surprisingly little guidance when choosing one.
That’s the gap Tennis Cube is designed to fill.

When a product is shown as in stock, it’s physically in stock and ready to ship.
More than just selling strings
The long-term vision for Tennis Cube goes beyond e-commerce.
I want Tennis Cube to become one of Europe’s most useful and trusted resources for tennis strings — a place where players can understand their options before they buy. That means building:
- A comprehensive tennis string rating database
- Independent string comparisons and reviews
- A String Finder that recommends strings based on the player’s needs
- Rankings across key performance categories
- Practical guides for players, coaches, stringers, clubs, and academies
The principle behind all of it is simple: better information leads to better string choices, and better string choices lead to better tennis.
Where the name comes from
The name Tennis Cube has a personal story behind it.
In Croatian, kocka means cube. My mother has run a small coffee bar in Croatia for almost three decades called Kockica — “little cube.” At the same time, my physical tennis shop in Luxembourg is around 15 square metres and almost perfectly cube-shaped.
The name was practically waiting for us.
A cube also has six faces, and that is how every string here is rated: power, spin, control, comfort, durability and tension stability. Six sides, six measures. We call it the Cube Profile, and you will find it on every string page.
Tennis Cube today
Today, Tennis Cube is an independent tennis-string business built by someone who coaches players, strings racquets, and works with tennis every day.
I’m not interested in telling you that every new string is revolutionary. I’m interested in answering the questions that actually matter: How does it play? Who is it for? Who isn’t it for? How does it compare? And will it work for your game?
Because the best string isn’t necessarily the most expensive one, the most popular one, or the one in a professional’s racquet. It’s the one that’s right for you.
