WILSON NXT SOFT

Wilson NXT Soft is the most cushioned version of NXT. The microfibre construction is the same idea but tuned with softer fibres and a more flexible bond, producing the plushest, most shock-absorbing string in Wilson's synthetic range — aimed squarely at players nursing an injury.

It is the comfort-maximum end of the NXT family — softer than standard NXT, at the cost of a little control and durability.

On-Court Performance

Impact is exceptionally soft — the stringbed swallows shock and vibration, which is why it is prescribed for tennis elbow and shoulder problems.

Power and depth come easily; the ball launches with very little effort.

Control is the give — the trajectory is high and the response can feel loose for players used to a firmer bed.

Durability is the lowest in the NXT line; the softer fibres notch and go dead sooner.

Who Should Use It

• Players actively managing tennis elbow, wrist or shoulder pain

• Older players and those returning from arm injury

• Low-to-moderate swing speeds who need help with depth

• Doubles and touch players who prize a soft, connected feel

• Players for whom standard NXT is still not soft enough

Hybrid Setups & Performance Adjustments

Power
String at the top of its range, or cross with a firm poly, to keep depth in check.

Control
Put a co-poly in the mains and NXT Soft in the crosses for a controlled bed that stays comfortable.

Spin
Pair with a shaped poly in the mains; NXT Soft is purely a comfort string.

Comfort
A full bed at low tension is about as soft as a synthetic gets — its whole reason to exist.

Tension Stability
Fades faster than standard NXT; restring on feel.

Durability
Use the thicker gauge and expect more frequent restrings than with standard NXT.
