WILSON NXT

Wilson NXT is the flagship of Wilson's multifilament range and one of the most respected comfort strings on the market. PU-bonded nylon microfibres give a soft, deep, gut-like response at a fraction of natural gut's cost, which is why it is the standard recommendation for players who don't need poly.

It is the premium comfort multifilament — plusher and more refined than Sensation, and the closest a mainstream synthetic gets to the feel of natural gut.

On-Court Performance

The stringbed is soft, powerful and deep, with a lively pocket that genuinely approaches gut for feel.

Comfort is excellent — NXT is a first-choice string for players with elbow or shoulder issues who still want performance.

Control is reasonable for how powerful it is, though the launch is higher than any poly.

Durability is the trade-off — NXT frays and softens over a few weeks, and heavy topspin shortens that further.

Hybrid Setups & Performance Adjustments

Power
String toward the upper window, or cross with a firm poly, if the ball runs long.

Control
Put a shaped poly in the mains and NXT in the crosses for control with most of the comfort.

Spin
Pair with a textured poly in the mains; NXT alone is a feel-and-power string.

Comfort
A full bed at low-to-mid tension is close to the softest a non-gut string gets.

Tension Stability
Good for a multi but it still fades — restring monthly rather than on breakage.

Durability
Use the 1.30 gauge, or hybrid with a poly, if you fray it quickly.
