Reel Tecnifibre XR3
The Tecnifibre XR3 string features a 3-strand polyester core for added control and strength. Although there are polyester strands, this string remains powerful with a certain firmness that hitters will appreciate.
Our test of the Tecnifibre XR3 string:
During the first few hours of play, we appreciated the power coming out of this string! The ball/string contact time is fairly short and the feel is quite firm for a multifilament string. The combination of power and control is well balanced.
Although the polyester strands provide extra resistance, they also offer a great deal of responsiveness, especially on hard hits.
And if you lift a little, you'll also feel a crispy sensation when you hit the ball.
On off-center hits, we liked the even response and, above all, the ever-present comfort.
Resistance is enhanced by the 3 monofilaments in the central core. The end-of-life of the string may be confusing, as it's very frayed, but the central core will be strong enough to keep you playing for several more minutes (or even hours).
WHO SHOULD USE THIS STRING?
We recommend the Tecnifibre XR3 string to players who play with monofilament and want to switch to a more comfortable string without sacrificing the sensations of mono. But also for young players who want more responsiveness and power from their multifilament! In this situation, you'll have the string with the best power/resistance/comfort ratio.
WHAT TYPE OF GAME IS TECNIFIBRE XR3 DESIGNED FOR?
It's suitable for a wide range of players, from defenders to attackers. However, the responsiveness of this string is highly appreciated by hitters.
