TECNIFIBRE TGV

Tecnifibre TGV is a soft, comfort-first multifilament — over 1,200 polyamide microfilaments bonded with a high concentration of PU-400 polyurethane for maximum cushioning. It is focused on control, comfort and feel, with exceptional tension hold and an anti-abrasion coating for durability. It is offered in natural and black.

It is Tecnifibre's dedicated arm-saver multifilament — softer and more control-oriented than X-One Biphase, less powerful and lively.

On-Court Performance

Comfort is the priority. Even off-centre hits feel soft, with no bad vibrations, which is why Tecnifibre recommends it for tennis elbow and arm issues.

The string leans toward control and feel rather than raw power. Depth is decent but does not explode off the stringbed the way NRG2 or X-One Biphase do.

Tension hold is exceptional for a multifilament — the response stays consistent well into the string's life.

Spin is modest, and durability is helped by the SPL coating that reduces notching and wear.

Who Should Use It

  • Players with tennis elbow, wrist or shoulder pain

  • Players who want multifilament comfort with more control than power

  • Touch and all-court players who value feel

  • Players in stiff racquets or dense patterns

  • Older players and those returning from injury

Who Should Not Use It

  • Players who want maximum power from the string

  • Heavy topspin baseliners who rely on bite

  • Frequent string breakers

  • Advanced players who want a poly-level low trajectory

Hybrid Setups & Performance Adjustments

Power
String toward the low end of the range if you want more depth, or pair with gut in the mains.

Control
Already control-leaning — string a full bed toward the upper range.

Spin
Put a shaped poly in the mains and TGV in the crosses.

Comfort
Full bed on the low side of the range for maximum cushioning.

Tension Stability
Among the best of any multifilament — expect a long, gradual softening.

Durability
Hybrid with a poly main if you break the mains quickly.
