TECNIFIBRE DURAMIX

Tecnifibre Duramix was the first string to blend polyester and polyamide fibres, impregnated with molten polyurethane. Three fibres — polyester, Elastyl and Thermostabyl — combine with a high-density PU resin for a more controlled, spin-friendly and durable response than a traditional multifilament, with an anti-abrasion coating for extra life. It is offered in a single colour.

It is a poly-fusion string — multifilament comfort wrapped around a firmer, more durable core.

On-Court Performance

The feel at impact is extremely plush, which makes it a strong choice for players who want an arm-friendly string but a bit more control than a pure multi.

The polyester content sharpens the response and lowers the trajectory compared with a soft multifilament, and adds modest spin.

Durability is the headline. It does not match a monofilament, but it lasts roughly 25–33% longer than a multifilament, with above-average tension maintenance.

Power is on the higher side, as with most fusion strings, though the PU resin keeps depth manageable.

Who Should Use It

  • Comfort seekers who want more control than a pure multifilament

  • Multifilament players who break strings too quickly

  • Players with arm sensitivity who still want a lower trajectory

  • All-court players who value plush feel and durability

  • Players in stiff racquets who want cushioning

Who Should Not Use It

  • Advanced players who need a genuine poly low trajectory

  • Heavy topspin baseliners who rely on string bite

  • Players who want the plushest, most powerful multifilament feel

  • Players chasing maximum spin

Hybrid Setups & Performance Adjustments

Power
String toward the low end of the range, or pair with a poly in the crosses.

Control
String a full bed toward the upper range, or use a firmer poly in the crosses.

Spin
Put a shaped poly in the mains and Duramix in the crosses.

Comfort
Full bed at moderate tension for the plushest feel.

Tension Stability
Above average for a soft string — string mid-range.

Durability
Already the durable comfort option — hybrid with a poly main only if you still break it.
