TECNIFIBRE BLACK CODE

Tecnifibre Black Code is the brand's benchmark shaped poly — a soft co-polyester with a pentagonal profile that produces tremendous spin. Thermo Core technology adds welcome elasticity and shock absorption to an otherwise firm string, making it one of the more arm-friendly spin polys available. It is offered in the standard colour and in lime and fire.

It is the spin-and-comfort option in Tecnifibre's poly range — more bite than Razor Code, softer and more forgiving than 4S.

On-Court Performance

The five edges create excellent ball bite. Players can generate heavy topspin and sharp angles, and the elasticity provides snapback for even more spin and explosive bounces.

Comfort is above average for a polyester thanks to Thermo Core — better elasticity and shock absorption than a traditional poly, so a full bed is tolerable for most arms.

Control is solid. Testers found it added just enough spin rather than an unmanageable amount, and they could still hit flatter drives with confidence.

As a shaped poly it loses tension and edge grip over time, so spin potential tapers before it breaks — plan to restring on a schedule.

String at the low end of the range or pair with natural gut or a multifilament in the mains.

Control
Use a full bed toward the upper tension window.

Put Black Code in the mains at mid-range tension to maximise bite and snapback.

Already one of the softer spin polys — hybrid with a soft cross for even more.

Tension Stability
String mid-range and restring on a schedule.
