Solinco Tour Bite Diamond Rough is a shaped co-polyester engineered with Diamond Rough texturing to increase bite, spin and ball pocketing. It keeps the aggressive DNA of the Tour Bite family but introduces a rougher, more elastic construction for added power and comfort.

This is the most explosive and spin-oriented version within the Tour Bite lineup.

On-Court Performance

Tour Bite Diamond Rough stands out immediately for its aggressive surface texture. The Diamond Rough process increases friction between strings and enhances snapback, producing heavy spin and strong ball rotation — especially on topspin groundstrokes and slice serves.

Compared to standard Tour Bite, this version feels more elastic and lively. Ball pocketing is extended, delivering more accessible power and improved comfort. The response is less “dry” and slightly more forgiving on off-center hits.

It is the most powerful string in the Tour Bite family. Control remains solid but is less surgical than the original Tour Bite. Players who rely purely on flat precision may prefer the classic version or Tour Bite Soft.

Tension maintenance is average for a textured co-poly, and the added elasticity means it may lose tension slightly faster than firmer variants.

To reduce the extra pop, increase tension slightly or use a firmer poly in the crosses (this calms the response). To add even more depth, lower tension or hybrid with a multifilament/gut in the mains.

Control
For tighter trajectory, string toward the higher end of your tension range and choose a firmer cross string if hybriding.

Use Diamond Rough in the mains to maximize bite and snapback from the textured surface.

Comfort
For maximum arm-friendliness, hybrid with a multifilament or gut in the crosses and avoid over-tensioning.
