MSV FOCUS HEX PLUS

MSV Focus Hex Plus takes the hex spin profile and adds elasticity — Plus 25 is around 25% more flexible than the original Focus Hex, and Plus 38 around 38% more, for a genuinely soft, powerful shaped poly. It is aimed at flatter and defensive players who want spin, comfort and a power reserve. It comes in black, with a white Plus 38 reel.

It is the comfort-and-power end of the Focus Hex family — the softest and most forgiving of the hex builds, at the cost of some control and durability.

On-Court Performance

The hex edges still add topspin, but the elastic core gives a higher, deeper launch than the firmer Focus Hex versions.

Comfort is high for a shaped poly — Plus 38 in particular is close to a soft round co-poly in feel.

There is a real power reserve, so slower and flatter swings get help with depth.

Control and durability are the softest points; the elastic core loses tension faster and the edges round off sooner.

Power
This is a strength of the string; string high or cross with a control poly if it runs long.

Control
Raise tension noticeably, or put a firm poly in the mains, to lower the launch.

Spin
Keep it in the mains at mid tension so the edges can grip; choose Plus 25 over Plus 38 for a touch more bite.

Comfort
Plus 38 at low tension is about as soft as a shaped poly gets.

Tension Stability
The elastic core slides faster — restring every 10–15 hours.

Durability
Use a thicker gauge and expect more frequent restrings than the firm Focus Hex.
