MSV Focus Hex is one of the best-value spin polys on the market and a long-time favourite among stringers. Six sharp edges dig into the ball for topspin while a firm, dense co-polyester core keeps the stringbed low-powered and durable. It comes in black.

It is the reference budget hex poly — the string other cheap spin polys are compared to, and the base of a family that runs from softer (Soft, Plus) to crisper (Ultra).

On-Court Performance

The hexagonal edges bite the ball hard for heavy topspin and a sharp downward trajectory.

The core is stiff and low-powered, giving a very controlled response — MSV recommends stringing it around 10% lower than a round poly.

Durability is strong for a shaped string; the edges hold up longer than most polys at this price.

Feel is firm and connected but not plush — a full bed at high tension is demanding on the arm.

Stiff — drop tension noticeably (MSV suggests -10%) or cross with a soft multi.
