HEAD LYNX POWER

HEAD Lynx Power is a shaped co-polyester monofilament built to add depth and free pace to the Lynx platform without losing its control character. It keeps the five-sided profile that grips the ball for spin, but pairs it with a livelier core so the ball leaves the stringbed with more energy. It is the power-leaning option in HEAD's shaped-poly range and comes in grey.

Within the Lynx family it sits opposite Lynx Tour: where Lynx Tour is firm and control-first, Lynx Power trades a little precision for easier depth.

On-Court Performance

At impact the response is medium-firm and slightly springy for a poly. The extra rebound helps the ball clear the net and land deep even when you are not swinging flat out, which makes it forgiving on defensive and stretched shots.

The shaped profile still bites the ball, so topspin and shape are available on committed swings, though the priority here is trajectory and pace rather than maximum revolutions.

Tension loss is typical for a shaped co-poly. It plays best in the first several hours and gradually becomes livelier as tension drops before it needs replacing.

Who Should Use It

  • Intermediate and advanced players who want a poly with more built-in depth

  • Players with medium-fast, spin-oriented swings who find pure control polys underpowered

  • Baseliners who want spin and pace from the same string

  • Players moving up from a softer multifilament who still want free depth

  • Anyone who likes the Lynx feel but wants more pop than Lynx Tour

Who Should Not Use It

  • Players who want the lowest possible launch angle and maximum control

  • Big hitters chasing pinpoint precision on full swings

  • Players with arm sensitivity who need a genuinely soft string

  • Beginners with short, slow strokes

Hybrid Setups & Performance Adjustments

Power
Already the power option in the Lynx range — string toward the lower end of the tension window for even more depth.

Control
Raise tension 1–2 kg, or put a firmer control poly in the crosses to rein in the trajectory.

Spin
Use Lynx Power in the mains and keep tension mid-range to let the shaped profile snap back.

Comfort
Hybrid with a soft multifilament in the crosses and drop tension slightly.

Tension Stability
String in the mid-range; very low tensions shorten the consistent window.

Durability
For frequent breakers move to the thicker gauge or use it in a hybrid with a poly cross.
