HEAD Hawk Rough takes the control core of the original Hawk and adds a grooved, textured surface for extra spin. The rougher profile grips the ball more aggressively on brushing contact while keeping Hawk's firm, predictable, control-first response. It comes in a single colour.

It is the spin variant of the Hawk family — the same control character as Hawk, with more bite for topspin players.

On-Court Performance

The textured surface makes a perceptible difference in spin. On brushing strokes the string grabs the ball, adding revolutions and letting you shape the ball more aggressively than with the round Hawk.

The core feel is still firm and direct. Control and trajectory are as predictable as the original Hawk, so it rewards players who supply their own pace.

Because the surface is textured rather than sharply shaped, spin is added without the harshest edges — a middle ground between round Hawk and a full shaped poly.

Durability and tension maintenance are solid, though the textured coating smooths out over time and spin potential tapers before the string breaks.
