HEAD HAWK

HEAD Hawk is a round co-polyester monofilament built around control and clean ball-striking. It delivers a firm, direct response with a connected feel at contact, and has long been a reference control string for flatter hitters and all-court players who want predictability over free power. It is offered in white, black and grey.

It sits at the control end of HEAD's poly range, below the softer Hawk Touch and the shaped, spin-oriented Lynx line.

On-Court Performance

At impact the response is crisp and firm without being brittle. The ball leaves the stringbed on a flat, controlled trajectory, and depth is a product of your own swing speed rather than string rebound.

The round profile keeps the stringbed stable and the launch angle low. Players who drive through the ball will find it easy to place, and off-centre hits stay predictable.

Compared with shaped polys, Hawk gives up some bite and spin potential in exchange for a cleaner, more repeatable contact and a more muted feel.

Tension maintenance is solid for a co-poly. It is a performance-first string rather than a comfortable one and is best suited to arms that tolerate a firmer bed.

Pair with natural gut or a lively multifilament in the mains, or drop tension 1–2 kg.

Put a shaped poly such as Lynx Tour in the mains and Hawk in the crosses.

Comfort
Hybrid with a softer poly or multifilament in the crosses and lower tension slightly.

Tension Stability
String in the mid-range; avoid very low tensions.
