Babolat Synthetic Gut 200m Reel

BABOLAT SYNTHETIC GUT

Babolat Synthetic Gut is a dependable, low-cost nylon string — a solid centre core wrapped in outer filaments for a clean, responsive feel with predictable control. It is the classic no-surprises string for recreational players and stringers who need a reliable default. It comes in natural, white and black, with a firmer, more durable Force version.

It is the entry point to Babolat's string range — less comfortable and less powerful than the Xplore and Addixion+ multifilaments, but far cheaper and more consistent than a no-name nylon. Force trades a little comfort for extra stiffness and durability.

On-Court Performance

The solid core gives a crisp, direct response with more control than a soft multifilament and none of the mushiness of a worn-out cheap string.

Power and comfort are moderate — better than a co-polyester, well short of a premium multi or natural gut.

Durability is average for the standard version; the Force version's firmer build lasts noticeably longer and suits harder hitters.

Spin is minimal — the round, smooth profile is built for consistency, not shot shape.

Who Should Use It

• Recreational and beginner players who want a reliable, affordable string

• Juniors and parents managing restring costs

• Stringers who need a dependable default

• Players who restring rarely and want predictability

• Players trying string types before investing in a premium multi — choose Force for more durability

Who Should Not Use It

• Players with arm injuries who need real comfort

• Advanced players who want control, spin or tension stability from the string

• Heavy topspin hitters

• Players who want power and touch close to natural gut

Hybrid Setups & Performance Adjustments

Power
String toward the low end for a little more depth; it is not a powerful string.

Control
A full bed at mid tension is predictable; the Force version tightens it further.

Spin
Pair with a shaped poly in the mains for bite; synthetic gut is a consistency string.

Comfort
Choose the standard version over Force, and drop 1–2 kg, for the softest setup.

Tension Stability
Synthetic gut loses tension steadily — restring on a schedule, especially the standard version.

Durability
Move to the Force version, or a thicker gauge, if you are breaking the standard string.
