BABOLAT RPM TEAM
Babolat RPM Team is the softer, more playable member of the RPM family. It keeps the octagonal profile and spin character of RPM Blast but uses a more forgiving co-polyester, so a full bed feels less harsh and holds up for club-level hitting hours. It comes in Babolat's signature yellow.
It sits below RPM Blast for outright bite and stiffness and above the RPM multifilament alternatives for control — the RPM to reach for when RPM Blast feels too demanding.
On-Court Performance
The eight-sided profile grabs the ball for a solid amount of topspin and shot shape, though it does not bite as viciously as the stiffer RPM Blast.
The softer co-poly makes the stringbed more comfortable and slightly more powerful than Babolat's flagship poly, which suits players who found RPM Blast punishing.
Control is dependable rather than pinpoint — depth is predictable and the launch angle is moderate.
Tension drops at the normal co-poly rate; the string plays best in the first several sessions and should be restrung on a schedule rather than left until it breaks.
Who Should Use It
Intermediate baseliners who want RPM spin with more comfort
Players stepping up from multifilament or synthetic gut to their first poly
3.0–4.5 level players who break multifilaments quickly
Players who found RPM Blast too stiff
Anyone wanting a forgiving shaped spin poly on a budget
Who Should Not Use It
Advanced players who want maximum spin bite and snapback
Big hitters who need elite durability
Players with arm injuries who need a genuinely soft string
Players who want a low, flat, dead trajectory
Hybrid Setups & Performance Adjustments
Power
String toward the low end of the range, or pair with a multifilament in the mains, for a lift in depth.
Control
A full bed at mid-to-upper tension keeps the launch angle down.
Spin
Keep RPM Team in the mains at mid tension so the octagonal edges can grip and release.
Comfort
Already one of the softer polys; drop tension a kilo or two, or cross with a multi, if you need more.
Tension Stability
Expect a normal co-poly tension slide — restring every 15–20 hours rather than waiting for it to break.
Durability
Move to the 1.30 gauge, or use a poly cross, if you saw through the 1.25 quickly.
