BABOLAT RPM HURRICANE

Babolat RPM Hurricane is a firm, durable spin poly and the descendant of Babolat's long-running Pro Hurricane Tour. The octagonal cross-section digs into the ball for topspin while the stiff co-polyester core keeps the stringbed low-powered and controlled, and the construction resists notching better than most shaped polys. It is offered in yellow and a white colourway.

It is more control- and durability-oriented than RPM Team and less refined in feel than RPM Blast — a workhorse spin poly for players who value a long, consistent life over plush comfort.

On-Court Performance

The eight-sided edges provide reliable spin and shot shape, with a slightly lower, flatter trajectory than RPM Team.

Power is low. The firm core keeps the ball from flying, which rewards players with long, fast swings and can feel dead for those who need help with depth.

Durability is a strength — the octagonal profile holds its shape longer than the sharper spin polys, so string-breakers get more hours per set.

The stringbed is stiff, so a full bed at high tension is hard on the arm; most players string it a little lower or hybrid it.

Hybrid Setups & Performance Adjustments

Power
String low, or hybrid with a multifilament or gut in the mains, for depth.

Control
A full bed at mid-to-high tension gives a very controlled, low launch.

Keep RPM Hurricane in the mains at mid tension so the octagon can grab and release.

Comfort
One of the stiffer options here — drop 1–2 kg, or put a soft cross in, to make a full bed tolerable.

Tension Stability
Holds shape well but still slides in tension like any co-poly; restring every 15–20 hours.
