Kirschbaum Black Shark is a spin string built on an eight-sided star profile — sharp edges all round the string that dig into the ball on brushing contact. The core is a firm, durable co-polyester, so it pairs heavy topspin with the control and life of a stiffer poly. It comes in black.

It is the shaped, spin-focused string in Kirschbaum's range — grabbier than any of the round polys, on a firmer, more control-oriented core than a dedicated soft spin string.

On-Court Performance

The star edges bite the ball hard for heavy topspin and a sharp dip, with a lower launch than the round Kirschbaum polys.

Control is very good once you have the racquet-head speed to load the string; the ball goes where you aim it.

Power is low and the feel is firm — this rewards fast, upward swings and can feel dead for players who need help.

As a shaped poly the edges round off and tension slides, so budget for more frequent restrings than a round poly.
