Head Challenge White 12m String
Head Challenge White 12m String
String Head Challenge 12m
Head Challenge is a string designed to combine the advantages of multi and monofilament. Its structure consists of a solid co-polymer core and a softer multifilament cover. Finally, an outer sheath is present to reduce friction.
This design provides greater power and comfort, while retaining precision and feel when striking. This Head string, halfway between monofilaments and multifilaments, is ideal for players who play a more aggressive game and want more comfort and ball speed than their monofilament.
The Challenge will also suit players looking for a firmer feel and more durability than their classic multi.
Our string test Head Challenge
During our test, we were impressed by the feel and comfort of this string. While the firm core of Head Challenge provides the necessary firmness for those who like a solid feel at impact, the addition of the multifilament layer makes itself felt and the ball goes off more easily, without jarring the arm at impact, even on hard hits.
This string, halfway between multi and mono, allows you to switch from one type of string to the other without losing any of its advantages.
We did note, however, that the spin was a little on the low side, so if you want to scratch the ball comfortably, you'd be better off with a RIP Control on the multi side or a Sonic Pro Edge on the mono side.
For which players do we recommend Head Challenge 12m?
This string is best suited to flat or covered hitters looking for power and comfort. It may also be suitable for a player looking for a feel similar to monofilament but with more comfort, or for a young player wishing to take his first step towards monofilament.
However, we do not recommend this string for regular breakers or heavy lifters. Indeed, even though it has a rigid core, the multifilament outer part will have limited durability for this style of player.
Where does Challenge stand among the Head strings?
Challenge is midway between the softest monofilament and the firmest multifilament. The power/control ratio is similar to that of the RIP Control, while the spin is more like that of a Lynx.
