Six sharp edges dig into the ball for topspin while a firm, dense co-polyester core keeps the stringbed low-powered and durable. It comes in black.

It is the reference budget hex poly — the string other cheap spin polys are compared to, and the base of a family that runs from softer (Soft, Plus) to crisper (Ultra).

On-Court Performance

The hexagonal edges bite the ball hard for heavy topspin and a sharp downward trajectory.

The core is stiff and low-powered, giving a very controlled response — MSV recommends stringing it around 10% lower than a round poly.

Durability is strong for a shaped string; the edges hold up longer than most polys at this price.

Feel is firm and connected but not plush — a full bed at high tension is demanding on the arm.

Who Should Use It

Heavy topspin baseliners on a budget

String-breakers who want a cheap, durable spin poly

Advanced players and juniors with fast, brushing swings

Hybrid users wanting an inexpensive shaped main

Stringers who need a reliable, low-cost house spin string

Who Should Not Use It

Players with arm sensitivity who need comfort

Players who need free depth and power

Flat hitters who want a smooth, predictable slide

Beginners and 3.0-level players

Hybrid Setups & Performance Adjustments

Power
String low, or pair with a multifilament in the mains, since it adds nothing to depth.

Control
A full bed at mid tension is already very controlled — the edges bring the ball down.

Spin
Keep Focus Hex in the mains at mid-to-low tension so the edges can grip and release.

Comfort
Stiff — drop tension noticeably (MSV suggests -10%) or cross with a soft multi.

Tension Stability
Shaped polys slide faster — restring on a schedule, not on breakage.

Durability
Already strong; a thicker gauge stretches it further.

Technical Specifications

Typology:
Monofilament

Shape:
Hexagonal (6-sided)

Composition:
Co-polyester

Available Colours:
Black

Available Gauges:
1.10 / 1.18 / 1.23 / 1.27 mm
